I really love and enjoy eating seafood especially it ranks high among my favorite foods, not only for its health benefits but also for the sheer pleasure it brings to me, I really don't know why bakit I wanted to try all seafood dishes all over the world. Admittedly, fresh seafood can be quite pricey, some is hard to find here, and I indulge in it only occasionally. However, when those cravings strike, I find myself scouring food apps or social media platforms searching for the best restaurants, stalls, or sellers to satiate my longing. Just like you, I believe that nobody can truly resist the allure of food cravings.
Now, let me share to you my latest and an exciting seafood adventure from my recent visit in one of the secret and oldest seafood restaurant in Binondo, Manila - Chinatown. If you're an athentic Chinese food lover, seafood lover, a coffee or drinks enthusiast, or simply someone who enjoys adventure and discovering hidden gems and news dishes, then you're in for a treat.
This seafood restaurant I am talking about is exactly nestled inside the Chinatown Lai-Lai Hotel at Ongpin Street corner Padilla Street Binondo, Manila. This secret spot promises an unforgettable dining experience to all.
So let me bring you through this article or my experience to Lai-Lai Seafood Restaurant and Lai-Lai Coffee Shop/Cafe, where authentic Chinese dishes and refreshing drinks will satisfied your cravings.
From the moment I stepped into this hidden gem, I knew I was in for something special. The warm ambiance, the simple classic decor, and the mouth-watering aroma of freshly prepared dishes instantly transported me to the country of China. So whether you're planning a family gathering, a special celebration, or just a casual meal with friends or special someone , Lai-Lai offers the perfect setting for every occasions or just a simple dinning food trip.
Lai-Lai Seafood Restaurant and Lai-Lai Coffee Shop/Cafe from their delectable seafood dishes to their comforting coffee brews, this place has it all. So, let's uncover the culinary delights that make Lai-Lai a must-visit destination in your next Binondo trip or food crawl. To be honest, I've been on several food trips or crawls in Binondo, Manila Chinatown, but this is my very first time visiting and experiencing the Lai-Lai Seafood Restaurant and Lai-Lai Coffee Shop/Cafe located at Chinatown Lai Lai Hotel 来来大酒店.
I was surprised to discover this hidden gem tucked away in the heart of Chinatown. I wasn't expecting that this classic and secret restaurant is located in the basement of Chinatown Lai-Lai Hotel.
I thought to myself "Hala nawawala yata ako", "Where is their restaurant? Did I enter the wrong place?" Tapos the worst thing happened I can message my colleagues because my data is recently expired on that time, sabi ko nalang patay! But thanks to the friendly and nice staff of Lai-Lai for assisting and bringing me down to their restaurant.
So let's get tothe main part, mga ka FoodieG:
Ambiance - For me, the restaurant’s warm, simple decors, and very inviting atmosphere makes it a perfect spot for gatherings, celebrating any special occasion, dates, and casual dining. Walking down to the stairs before you enter the restaurant door, you will be welcoming by three adorable Buddha in the table stand,
and upon entering you will be also welcoming by the iconic human size Luffy of One Piece the Anime Series with vibing background saying Let's Party!
The decors is a delightful blend of traditional Chinese elements and modern touches. The walls are adorned with mirrors and some printings, creating an authentic feel. Red lanterns hang from the ceiling, casting a soft, warm glow over the dining area. The furniture is classic and comfortable, with wooden tables and chairs that add to the cozy ambiance. I felt like I was on a trip to China immediately because of their decor and more.
Food and Menu - At Lai-Lai Seafood Restaurant, I can say they really offer fresh, delicious, well-seasoned, and authentic Chinese cuisine. Especially their seafood dishes, which they are famous for and receive many delivery orders.

- Oyster Ball with Veggies
- Crab Rice
- Steam Suahe Shrimps
- Lai Lai Noodles
- Fried Espada Fish

The food is really praised for its freshness and flavorful preparation. I really liked their food servings because they were generous and perfect for group or family get-togethers. Among the dishes I tried, I enjoyed the Lapu Lapu Ulo Soup the most.
To be honest, I'm a very picky or martens interms with fish soup dishes because I don't like it when they're undercooked, fishy smell, have an aftertaste, and i wanted it always should be served hot. So, bravo to the Lai-Lai Seafood Restaurant team and to the chef because your soup was delicious, and even when it was a bit cold, I still wanted more. "Must-Try!" I also loved the Fried Espada Fish and Lai Lai Noodles.
In addition to their menu list, they also offer a variety of seafood options and Filipino-Chinese comfort foods, providing a versatile choice for different palates of their customers like the garlic broccoli, okiam chicken, and more.
Service - The service at Lai-Lai Seafood Restaurant was exceptional. The staff were attentive and friendly, making sure that our dining experience was enjoyable from start to end. And I saw that they were super busy because of delivery orders and pack meals. They made sure that all the food they served and packed was correct and clean.
Pricing - Is it affordable? One of the best aspects of Lai-Lai Seafood Restaurant is its reasonable pricing. Let’s say the meals typically cost around PHP 500 to 700 and up. For me, it’s an affordable option because their servings are generously madami, perfect talaga for sharing. For those craving authentic high-quality seafood dishes without breaking your wallet, Lai-Lai Seafood Restaurant has got you covered! It's really worth it.
Overall Experience - My visit to Lai-Lai Seafood Restaurant was super memorable, especially since I really enjoyed the bonding time with some of my colleagues, and it was nice to see them again.
Many thanks to the delicious food, excellent service, and welcoming ambiance. I said I will be back again with my family because I want to share and let them try what I experienced. I will be back also because I want to try some dishes that I didn't get to taste, and I'm sure they are delicious too...
So after our lunch meal we went upstairs to try the Lai-Lai Coffee Shop/Cafe and to had some delicious drinks or coffee. Lai-Lai Coffee Shop,/Cafe is a cozy spot perfect for a relaxing coffee break or a casual meet-up. The coffee shop/cafe offers a variety of beverages, from classic brewed coffee to specialty drinks.
The ambiance here is just as inviting, with comfortable seating and a charming decor that includes warm lighting and more. It's a great place to unwind after a hearty meal or to simply enjoy a quiet moment with a good book.
The coffee shop/cafe also offers a selection of pastries and light snacks, making it an ideal spot for a quick bite or a leisurely afternoon...
