As the country’s leading consumer finance company, Home Credit Philippines inspires people to take steps toward health and wellness.
Philippines – 2,000 runners participated in Takbo #ParaSaLife, Home Credit Philippines' first-ever fun run held at Parqal in Aseana City. Organized by WeKenRun, the event featured 1K, 3K, 5K, and 10K categories, promoting health and wellness among Filipinos while reinforcing Home Credit's commitment to supporting customers holistically, not just financially.
More than 2,000 runners took a step toward a healthier lifestyle by joining Takbo #ParaSaLife, Home Credit Philippines’ inaugural fun run. Home Credit continues its mission of supporting Filipinos—not just through financial inclusion, but in promoting physical and mental well-being.
Held at Parqal in Aseana City and organized in collaboration with WeKenRun, a running group led by renowned marathon coach Ken Mendola, the event was designed to be accessible to runners of all fitness levels.
In attendance were Home Credit executives, team members, guests, and personalities, including Lester Cruz, CEO of Singlife Philippines, all supporting Home Credit’s commitment to fostering healthier lifestyles. Employees from Boltech and SM, along with valued partners from Xiaomi, Park Access, and Singlife, also participated in the race.
Championing Holistic Wellness
“According to the World Health Organization (WHO), nearly 38% of Filipinos are physically inactive, putting them at risk for lifestyle-related diseases. As the trusted ally of Filipinos, not only in financial inclusion but also in overall well-being, Home Credit is committed to encouraging communities to embrace healthier lifestyles,” said Petr Lukosz, HCPH Chief CRM Officer and two-time Ironman Philippines Champion.
“Seeing people of all ages and backgrounds come together for this run is truly inspiring. At Home Credit, we believe that wellness is an essential part of living a fulfilling life. Takbo #ParaSaLife is more than just a race; it’s a movement we hope will continue beyond today. We look forward to making this an annual tradition to encourage more people to prioritize their health,” he added.
A Successful Turnout and Exciting Rewards
The event attracted Home Credit team members, first-time runners, and seasoned enthusiasts, all united by a shared commitment to health and wellness. Participants received running shirts, race bibs, and loot bags from event partners, while finisher medals will be shipped to them. Additionally, podium finishers in the 10K, 5K, and 3K categories received exciting cash prizes, including a grand prize of ₱10,000 for the fastest runner in the 10K distance.
Home Credit and its partners made the event even more rewarding with exciting prizes, including gift certificates for ON Running Shoes and Suunto, Park Access vouchers, and smart home gadgets from Xiaomi. Podium finishers also received insurance vouchers from Singlife—₱7,500 for the male and female first placers of the 10K, ₱5,000 for the 5K, and ₱2,500 for the 3K categories. These rewards exemplify how Takbo #ParaSaLife promotes holistic well-being while making every stride worthwhile.
Joma Unabia, a first-time fun run participant and 10K finisher, shared his excitement about joining Takbo #ParaSaLife: “This was my first time participating in a fun run, and I never imagined I could complete the 10K category—but I did! It was an incredible experience. Thanks to Home Credit, I was able to challenge myself and achieve something I never thought possible. This event has inspired me to stay active, set bigger fitness goals, and make running a part of my lifestyle. I hope to join again next year and push myself even further!”
Looking Ahead
With the success of Takbo #ParaSaLife, Home Credit Philippines is already preparing for next year’s edition—promising to be bigger, better, and more exciting.
As WHO data indicates that almost 40% of Filipinos remain physically inactive, initiatives like this serve as a vital reminder that small steps can lead to significant changes. Beyond financial empowerment, Home Credit is dedicated to supporting holistic well-being, ensuring that every Filipino can live their best, healthiest life—one run at a time.
This event would not have been possible without the support of Home Credit’s valued partners—including WeKenRun, Aseana City, Parqal, Sip (Hydration Partner), Sip Plus (Electrolytes), Singlife, Surge Lifestyle, Suunto, Xiaomi Philippines, and Park Access (Official Nike Distributor).

My Experience
Stepping onto the starting line of Home Credit PH’s Takbo #ParaSaLife, I felt like a personal triumph; why? Because this was my comeback run after a long, long years and sidelining my sneakers due to some health issues that hit me hard, I need to stop muna.
In this fun run, I chose the 5K category, running solo with zero training plue malabo pa ang mats ko, and let me tell you this: crossing that finish line brought a flood of pure joy and gratitude I hadn’t felt in ages! Kasi naman takot ako may mangyari sa akin that time pero zi still hold to my goal na kaya ko ito and Lord Jesus Christ for sure never leave me.
My family and friends tackled the 10K lahat sila nandoon and alongside media partners and KOLs friends on other categories sila, but seeing them at the finish line that they are all ok, kina musta nila ako is echoing in my heart as I pushed through.
To be honest, my legs screamed exhaustion, not enough sleep, and body pain, but the happiness, the memories, and the return to my healthier me, unstoppable self-made every step worth it talaga, and I am proud of myself, a perfect kickoff to 2025 and an achievement I’ll cherish.
I ran alone in my lane, but I wasn’t lonely; I carried the spirit of the old days when running was my rhythm and man, I missed it talaga. As I caught my breath, I thought of something inspiring I once read: “The body achieves what the mind believes,” and that day, I believed again. And sabi ko nga sa sarile ko na, kaya ko padin pala ulit kahit may vision problem ako, kaya ko siya as long I believing to myself and may goal ako.
So to my Home Credit family a massive thank you and hearty congratulations to all for igniting this wellness spark or advocacy – I’m already looking forward to the next run and happy to support them all the way and to every single participant who crossed that finish line, your grit turned a fun run into a life-changing celebration. Here’s to more victories, big and small for all!
