PAY ON THE GO: HUAWEI WEARABLES NOW POWERED BY GCASH QR CODES

 Philippines – On April 3, 2025 HUAWEI Philippines leads the way in accessible, next-generation cashless payments for smartwatches as it unveils the Watch Pay feature with GCash on its latest line of wearable devices. Watch Pay transforms HUAWEI wearables into fast, contactless payment devices, letting users make secure and efficient transactions with QR codes to pay on the go.



The GCash Watch Pay feature is the first in the Philippines to enable QR code payments on wearable devices via GCash. This feature is now available for use on the the HUAWEI WATCH Ultimate, HUAWEI WATCH GT 4, HUAWEI WATCH GT 5 Series, HUAWEI WATCH D2, HUAWEI WATCH Fit 3, and the HUAWEI Band 10 and will be available to wearables launched in the future.



HUAWEI Maintains Lead in Global Wearable Shipments in IDC’s Worldwide Quarterly Report

The launch of the Watch Pay feature on HUAWEI wearables comes after the tech brand was reported to have ranked first globally for wrist-worn devices priced below USD 700 in 2024. This was according to IDC’s latest Worldwide Quarterly Wearable Device Tracker report. While global wrist-worn device shipments declined by 1.4% year-on-year to 190 million units, HUAWEI saw growth and led its market for the fifth consecutive year with a global-best shipment increase of 33.6%.
